About Me: My Journey to Tasty Bowl Recipes

Hello there! I’m Jane, and I’m so glad you’re here at Tasty Bowl Recipes. Let me share a bit about the food philosophy that drives this blog and why I’m so passionate about the recipes you’ll find here.

For much of my life, from childhood through my early twenties, I struggled with my digestive health. I intimately understand how quickly an upset stomach can lead to a feeling of sluggishness and lethargy, not just physically, but mentally too. Looking back, I sometimes wonder how I managed that constant rollercoaster of exhaustion.

A Culinary Revelation: My Path to Healing

Living with persistent discomfort eventually led me down a difficult road, where my relationship with food became strained, and my body was often inflamed. I yearned to feel better, but the path forward seemed unclear. In a pivotal moment, I decided to immerse myself in a whole food diet. The transformation was profound and almost immediate—I felt a remarkable shift in my physical well-being and mental clarity.

This personal revelation ignited a deep curiosity about nutrition and the incredible capacity of food to not only nourish but also to contribute to our healing. This passion propelled me to deepen my knowledge, leading me to pursue formal studies and proudly graduate as a Culinary Nutrition Expert.

Food Philosophy: More Than Just Ingredients

Does this mean I’m “cured”? Absolutely not. Our well-being is influenced by so many factors—food is a huge one, but exercise, sleep, and stress also play critical roles. What it does mean, however, is that I’ve become incredibly passionate about creating delicious, healthy recipes that truly nourish your body (and mine!), helping you to thrive.

Here’s what you can expect from the recipes on Tasty Bowl Recipes:

What to Expect from My Recipes

I firmly believe that there isn’t one universal diet that works for everyone. We all need to eat and live in a way that feels right for us. As we move through life, our dietary choices and lifestyles will naturally evolve. On this blog, you’ll find primarily vegetarian recipes, packed with plenty of fruits and vegetables—because that’s how we cook at home and it’s always a good thing! Where possible, I’ll also include options to adapt recipes to be vegan, paleo, or even keto, which you’ll typically find in the “How can I adjust this recipe?” section. My hope is that you’ll find inspiration here that truly works for you and your body.

Simple, Nutritious, Delicious – Always!

When I was younger, cooking felt intimidating. I remember a time when I couldn’t even cook noodles without calling someone for instructions (this was before Google made everything easy!). It took me a long time to learn to cook in a way that actually tasted good!

I also encountered countless recipes filled with complex jargon that left me frustrated and overwhelmed. That’s why I’m committed to writing recipes in simple, clear language. Where helpful, I’ll include process pictures so everyone, even beginner cooks, can follow along with confidence. Oh, and one more thing – I love cooking, but I don’t love spending hours in the kitchen! Most of my recipes are quick to make, and I usually structure the instructions so you can efficiently work through steps in parallel.

Ultimately, Tasty Bowl Recipes is meant to be a judgment-free space where you can come, enjoy, and hopefully find delicious inspiration for your own kitchen! There are two things you generally won’t find here: refined sugar and gluten. To keep it simple, both can negatively impact health, especially if your digestive tract is already sensitive. But rest assured, every recipe here is 100% delicious!
